It is great that Google takes education seriously and offers ways to help students succeed – and for no charge. The company also anticipates that the Google Drive for Education users will likely want to continue to use Drive for Work once they graduate from school. While that is plenty for many students, Google believes that they will find ways to fill up the additional space. In addition, Enhanced Auditing support is in the works for educational institutions, but the date of availability has not been shared.Īt present time, Google Apps for Education offers users 30 GB of free space for their accounts. The solution allows businesses to, for example, archive emails and chats to educational users. Prior to the end of the year, Google also will offer free access to its compliance solution for businesses, Google Apps Vault.
Like the rest of the Google Apps for Education suite, Drive for Education is free for non-profit education institutions.ĭrive for Education will become available automatically to all Google Apps for Education users in the upcoming weeks.
